I am a highly skilled and experienced Certified Information Systems Auditor. I gained Prince2 Practitioner,  ITIL, ISMP certified and passed my ISACA CGEIT exam. For the most part my career I worked within the healthcare industry where I gained a solid background in Information and IT management before I moved into Information & IT Governance/Security; including data privacy. I have a passion for promoting Information Governance as a key enabler for sharing data in a safe and effective manner to fundamentally improve the services that citizens receive from their healthcare providers, local government as well as the private and voluntary sector.

I joined Cerner Corp in June 2016 after working for 11 years the UK National Health Service in different roles. In my role I am responsible to ensure that enterprise security is implemented in a consistent, coherent manner that is compliant with country specific legislation, regulations and industry good practice. I provide leadership throughout the entire development life cycle of information security programs.

Below are some of the projects that I was involved in during my time in the NHS:

  • May 2015
    Implemented Cerner Millennium at University Hospital Lewisham (Part of Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust). I was involved in this project since its tendering process leading the IG, Assurance and Access Control work stream.
  • July 2014
    Implemented Cerner Millennium in the newly acquired Queen Elizabeth Hospital site of Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust.
  • September 2012 – October 2013
    Lead the Information Governance and Registration Authority workstreams of the merger by acquisition of Queen Elizabeth Hospital from the dissolution of South London Healthcare NHS Trust establishing an IG Department comprising of seven data protection professionals.
  • August 2010
    Established a permanent IG function within Lewisham Healthcare NHS Trust after integrating the community health services into the acute organisation. This involved the establishment of data protection awareness across all levels of the organisations.
  • September 2008
    Implemented RiO Community Health electronic patient record system within Lewisham Primary Care Trust leading the access control mechanisms and established NHS Registration Authority (Identity Management) function for the organisation.
  • January 2008
    Established Information Governance framework and structure within Lewisham Primary Care Trust and acting as the local IG Manager.
  • June 2005 – December 2007
    I have been involved in several small and medium scale IT projects including the Head Quarter relocation and kitting out of several new community health care centres.
