I was born in the mid 1970’s in the Southwest part of Germany near the Black Forest. I lived for several years in Sunderland (some say it is the biggest city in the Northeast of England, other say that it is not the most exciting one). I enjoyed the beach and surrounding countryside. It is surrounded by a beautiful countryside and if you like country walks then the Northeast and especially Northumbria is the ideal area for you. For me it is one of the most beautiful areas in the UK. Nevertheless, times have moved on and I am now living in London where I am working for Cerner Corp. within its Enterprise Security group.
Before I moved to the UK I lived on the outskirts of Stuttgart. Stuttgart and Sindelfingen are well known as the city where Mercedes and (for Stuutgart) Porsche cars are built. They are located very close to the Black Forest. Lake Constance is only a 1 ½ hour journey away, so I have been spoiled of beautiful countryside even before coming to the UK. I came to England to study for my undergraduate degree in computing at the University of Sunderland, where I graduated after 3 years.
I was staying for another year in the northern part of England, before I found a job in the southern region of the UK. I am now quiet a few years employed in the greater London area. I completed my post-graduate education in December 2008 and finished my research thesis about “Radio Frequency Technology in blood transfusion management” at the City University London for my MSc in Health Informatics while working for the NHS.
My interests are in Safety in Medicine, RFID, Clinical Information System, IT Security, Information Governance and Compliance, Groupware and Social Networking systems as well as Business Continuity and Emergency Planning.
My hobbies are biking, swimming, socializing with friends, cooking and enjoying the culinary gems of foreign countries. Relaxing is also high on the agenda, but my favourite spare time activity is travelling and discovering the world – with a focus on Europe and Southeast Asia. If you like travelling too, then I have some tips about the Northeast England for you.
